Position Summary  

We are actively seeking a UX Researcher to join the Direct-to-Consumer Product UX Research Team to fuel the design and development of the Max video streaming experience with rich customer insights.

In this role, you will plan and conduct research under the guidance of experienced researchers to discover and create the best video streaming experience for Max users around the globe. You’ll get to collaborate with top leaders in research, product, design, and engineering to solve challenging problems and develop features which delight subscribers.

This is a high potential role with the opportunity to learn the streaming business and conduct meaningful research that influences the Max user experience. The ideal candidate has strong research skills, an agile growth mindset, and deep curiosity about people, data, and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct research studies with guidance and oversight from senior researchers. Tasks include but are not limited to attending stakeholder meetings, identifying research needs, setting objectives and metrics, recommending methods, coordinating prototype delivery with design, developing a recruiting plan, drafting a study session guide, programming surveys, study moderation, data analysis, and presenting results.
  • Analyze and translate data into actionable insights with guidance and oversight from senior researchers. Ensure insights are aligned with business and customer goals.
  • Co-present research findings in formal presentations and workshops to help teams apply the insights to design solutions.
  • Assist with project management of user research studies including communication, vendor coordination, software tool logistics, timelines, and deliverable schedule, coordinating recruitment, and lab facility needs.
  • Review existing research and synthesize insights across data sources into clear, concise presentations.
  • Advocate for the needs of the customer, consult on best practices and UX standards.
  • Grow the UXR team's global expertise and value to the business; explore new ways to discover user insights, experiment with the latest research methods, stay abreast of customer trends, industry competitive offerings and emerging tech to identify and develop novel solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of work experience in a UX Researcher role working on consumer apps.
  • Graduate degree in Engineering Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, or similar, with formal training in usability testing.
  • Experience with qualitative methods including diary studies, cognitive walkthroughs, moderating IDIs, contextual inquiry, focus groups, and lab-based usability tests. Ability to adapt those methods to remote-only testing.
  • Experience with quantitative methods such as customer surveys and statistical analysis such as kano, max diff, and behavioral analytics.
  • Proficient with research software for project planning, remote/online research studies, and statistical analysis, and using AI in research.
