The role you’ll contribute:

The Clinical Nurse Education Facilitator (CNEF) is an expert clinician, highly skilled in nursing practice that will be responsible for fostering a collaborative learning relationship with nurses to build depth of practice from advanced beginner levels to expert clinicians; promoting self-direction, critical thinking, critical reflection, and life-long learning to adapt quickly to changing clinical environments and escalating patient care needs. The CNEF will use a student-centered approach, built on the foundation of trust and respect to promote transformation of skill and knowledge into a continuum of clinical growth. The action of facilitation is not merely coordination or provision of resources or efforts to make things easier; rather it is a goal-oriented dynamic process in which the CNEF and student/participant work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect to learn through critical reflection and critical thinking. Facilitation is a complex, multifaceted process of dissemination of knowledge and enabling the implementation of evidence into practice. The CNEF will spend most of their time within clinical areas working alongside the nurses teaching direct patient skills, linking theory with practice and decision making. The CNEF is actively involved in the professional development for nursing staff including the identification and development of strategies to facilitate a continuous process of lifelong learning, role transition, role integration, skill acquisition and mastery as learners advance from advanced beginner to expert. The CNF will work collaboratively with the unit leadership team, educator, and physician team to expand nursing staff's basic skills, theory, and practice to support the complex patient needs.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Celebrates accomplishments and tracks progress toward milestones for growth.

  • Actively involves nurses in assessment and feedback using critical reflection and thinking.

  • Documents feedback processes and integrates changes into learning plans.

  • Collaborates with unit leadership, educators, and physicians to identify nurses for growth programs post-orientation.
