Position Summary
As a Uniformed Security Site Supervisor at Oncor, you’re responsible for the security operations, development of operational policies, procedures, and specific post instruction for the Uniformed Armed Security Operations at Oncor’s Downtown Fort Worth Corporate Office. Operating as the access badge administrator, the Site Supervisor serves as a liaison between the Uniformed Security Officers and Corporate Security management, as well as an on-site point of contact for key Oncor stakeholders requiring security assistance. This role will liaison with third-party security vendors who provide electronic security systems and services at Oncor and in support of Corporate Security’s Control Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains proficiency through initial and subsequent re-training in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, less than lethal devices, and weapons.
- Works in environments and under conditions that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, the use of protective gear and devices, and awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
- Utilize rapid and effective judgment in responding to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate de-escalation and conflict resolution techniques while also understanding the appropriate escalation of force level.
- Develop and implement comprehensive Security Control Center operational policies, procedures and standards for the card access, video surveillance, alarm, and weapons detection systems.
- Uniformed Security personnel management, overall use of resources and initiation of corrective action where required.
- Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for emergency response, electronic security systems, Security Control Center policies and procedures, and Corporate Security tools, processes, and procedures as implemented and utilized by the Uniformed Security Officer personnel.
- Development, implementation and oversight of Corporate Security’s communications systems, emergency, and non-emergency, including apps, internet-based systems, radio, phones, email, and intercoms; to include policies, procedures, and scripting for emergency notifications via the building’s mass notification system.
- Design, implementation, and management of a program for information and metrics collection and analysis using existing alarm, card access, video surveillance and weapons detection system tools.
- Assist the Manager and Director, Corporate Security in efforts to integrate the Security Control Center into emergency preparedness and crisis management planning and execution.
- Serves as the liaison between the Uniformed Security personnel and the Manager and Director of Corporate Security.
- Directs the daily work of subordinates and utilizes resources effectively.
- Establishes performance expectations for subordinates and holds them accountable for meeting those expectations.
- Communicates and coordinates with other members of management and work group members to ensure efficient use of all related resources including but not limited to: time, personnel, vehicles, tools and equipment.
- Participates in investigations related to potential employee misconduct and policy or rule violations.
- Ensures equipment and tools are effectively used and maintained properly.
- Monitors subordinates time to ensure accurate time reporting.
- Lead by example and holds subordinates accountable and responsible for their actions.
- Schedules appointments for employees and contractors needing new or replacement access cards, and ensures the system is updated timely.
- Ensures Shift Supervisors are trained on the system and can perform adds/deletes/changes to the system in his or her absence.
- Assists first responders, including but not limited to Emergency Medical Services (EMS), fire rescue, law enforcement and other public safety entities, during emergency response or security incidents at Oncor.
- Provides enhanced security during on-site events and Very Important Person (VIP) visits.
- Implements procedures and provides direction during Building Emergency Response Plan (BERP) activation and/or Business Continuity Plan operation
