JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University is accepting applications for an undergraduate researcher position. The student researcher will be asked to assist in building a magneto-transport measurement system. The successful applicants will assist in our work to develop new multiferroic materials and report them through peer reviewed publications to support ongoing research efforts.

The position will require in-person attendance; there is no remote component. Data management and computer-based data analysis skills (e.g., Matlab, Python, Mathematica) are required. A background in physics, materials science or any relevant branch of engineering is desired. The ability to work independently is required. Strong communication skills are also required to support collaborative work.
