Undergraduate Research Assistant

Salary/Position Classification

• $14 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 10 hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND undergraduate students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and design specifications and contract drawings.
• Perform a variety of tasks to support engineering analyses, report production and designs.
• Prepare basic calculations.
• Collect, organize, and evaluate data.
• Analyze power systems utilizing computer modeling and simulation.

Minimum Requirements

• Enrolled in B.S. Electrical Engineering
• Experience with MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel for data analysis and MS PowerPoint
• Familiarity with power system modeling and analysis tools
• Enrolled in a minimum of 1 credit for the employed academic semester
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

• Junior/Senior level in Electrical Engineering with research experience preferred.
• Experience with MS Visio, Power World, and risk assessment tools.
• Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken power system courses.
