About the role
AIG Treasury is a global organization within the Finance division of AIG.  We have offices in New York City, Houston, London, Dublin, Japan, and India.  In addition to Corporate Strategy, Investor Relations, Rating Agency, and Bank Relations, AIG Treasury’s primary business functions include cash flow forecasting & funding, investing & borrowing, capital & liquidity management, analytics & metrics reporting to measure, monitor, and mitigate liquidity, foreign exchange, and counter-party credit risk. 

The FX (Foreign Exchange) Treasury team, based in New York City, is responsible for managing all aspects of FX risk globally.   The team is searching for a candidate who has a Finance/Accounting background.  Successful candidates for this role are self-starters with balance of quantitative and qualitative skills. Finance / Accounting / Economics / Mathematics majors are preferred with strong verbal and written communication skills.

Your Contributions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Measurement, management and monitoring of AIG Aggregated foreign currency exposures and risks vs. established foreign currency limits
  • Preparation, tracking and monitoring of active foreign currency derivative trades for rolling, physical delivery or partial unwind
  • Aggregation and reconciliation of ~170 reporting offices’ quarterly transactional currency balance sheets, from SAP systems and manual data submissions for purposes of 10K/Q reporting
  • Aggregation, reconciliation and variance analysis of GI US Pool individual legal entity FX exposures
  • Identify, measure, manage and monitor foreign currency exposures & risk, including the design and execution of appropriate risk mitigation strategies to manage statutory surplus risk at material regulated insurance entities vs. established FX limits and identify opportunities for maximizing economic benefits (Sharpe ratios)
    • Preparation of quarterly FX risk management memorandums for material regulated insurance entities
    • Lead quarterly FX hedge recommendation calls with Capital, Investments and ERM functions
  • Identify, measure, manage and monitor foreign currency exposures in aggregate for non-material regulated insurance entities and non-regulated companies vs. established FX limits
  • Preparation of FX exposure data cuts for ERM reporting purposes
  • Risk management and hedging of transactional currency cash flows e.g., FX dividends, capital contributions, and reinsurance settlements
  • Entering FX spot and derivative trades into Appian for approval and execution

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree required.  Finance or business major preferred.
  • Broad experience in Finance, Treasury, and Risk Management in a financial firm with demonstrated knowledge in corporate finance, investments, and accounting.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • Self-starter, quick learner, and flexible team player.
  • Excellent problem solving, and analytical skills with high level of intellectual curiosity ability.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure and tight deadlines while retaining strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Technical skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. 
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg terminal functions is a plus.

For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $79,200 - $89,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
