MGR TREASURY OPS ACCTNG
The Treasury Operations Accounting Manager will manage accounting and reporting for treasury
products which cover transactions related to accounting derivatives, debt, investment securities, and
other brokered funding/liquidity products. The role will contribute to the preparation of month-end and
quarter-end financial and regulatory reports and assist with subsystem reporting functions. Furthermore,
the position will ensure compliance with accounting standards and related policies and controls.
Position Responsibilities:
Month-end/Quarter-end Reporting
- Review account reconciliations and balancing for various Treasury Operations products. Research discrepancies by actively collaborating with other departments to identify causes and remediations.
- Support month-end close activities through review and posting of journal entries, where applicable.
- Perform analytical reviews and inform executive management of financial results related to various Treasury Operations accounts.
- Perform/actively review various quarter-end financial reports used for SEC reporting and regulatory reporting (e.g., Call/FR Y-9 Reports and Form10-Q/10-K).
Research and Divisional Partnership Duties
- Conduct research and draft policy papers on new products or recently issued accounting standards.
- Effectively communicate conclusions to management, team members and other stakeholders.
- Serve as a Controller workstream lead on area of responsibility and other projects as deemed necessary and collaborate with IT, business product stakeholders and other members of the Controller department to ensure project initiatives are met.
- Assist with subsystem upgrades, conversions and product or accounting changes.
- Responsible for driving system changes from an accounting perspective related to the treasury operations subledger platforms, while additionally collaborating with external vendors to ensure transaction activity is reported accurately.
- Engage respective division management when their subledger systems or operations have problems resulting in a financial impact.
Human Capital, Compliance and Risk Management
- Develop and manage personnel to ensure trained, capable personnel perform responsibilities.
- Proactively engage in team development goals, including requiring more timely robust verbal feedback to ensure team members are meeting expectations of their professional roles and responsibilities.
- Create and maintain detail documentation for the flow of processes, systems, controls, and products.
- Additionally, develop and implement accounting and regulatory controls related to new products and processes.
- Drive operational efficiencies and risk reduction through strategic use of technology.
- Provide effective risk management oversight of team and manage internal and external audit engagements impacting areas of responsibility.
