Trauma Program Manager - Full Time - Days

Job Summary

The Trauma Program Manager assumes responsibility for the development, implementation, and evaluation of Mohawk Valley Health System Level Three Trauma Program

Core Job Responsibilities

• Organize services and systems necessary for a multidisciplinary approach to providing care to the injured patient.
• Participation and oversight of the trauma registry, performance improvement process, injury prevention, outreach, and preparation for verification as a Level 3 trauma center with the American College of Surgeons.
• Active involvement in REMAC, RTAC, and STAC
• Interacts and works closely with entities of the trauma system including the Trauma Medical Director, Department of Surgery, Hospital Administration, and the Trauma Team. 
• Participation in regional, state, and national organizations.
• Must be able to work across multiple disciplines so they may work as a comprehensive trauma system from pre-hospital to discharge 
• Participate in case reviews, conduct education and monitor outcomes and issues that focus on performance improvement
• Manage the financial aspects of the program and act as liaison to administration and other staff
• Supervise collection and submission of data for the trauma registry and TQIP benchmarking program
   

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing 
• Minimum of 5 years post licensure RN acute care experience preferably in Emergency Department
   

PREFERRED:

• Master’s degree in nursing
• Experience in supervisory/management position
   

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:

•     NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) RN
