Job Description
Transportation Project Manager
AECOM is looking for a Transportation Project Manager to provide support to the AECOM Transportation Improvement Act (TIA) Team working for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). This position will actively contribute to the delivery of the second ten years of projects located in the River Valley Region. This position will be based in Georgia and is currently a hybrid work position, which includes remote work, occasional site visits, and travel to meetings within the River Valley Region. This position affords the ideal candidate the following:
- Manage projects on a long-term GDOT Program, which AECOM has managed for 10+ years and was recently renewed for an additional 5 years.
- Provide project management services on a large fully funded state transportation program with 45+ complex and active roadway projects.
- Work within a small cohesive team, which works as an extension of GDOT staff.
- Work on a high-value program that strives to innovate program and project management, while remaining transparent to the citizens that voted to enact TIA.
As a Project Manager on the TIA team working directly with GDOT, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of all the River Valley TIA 2 (2023-2032) projects. This includes:
- Management of the design consultants and their sub-consultant teams.
- Providing input on design consultant's scopes of services, deliverables, and cost proposals.
- Visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
- Coordination with internal utility, environmental, and right-of-way subject matter experts.
- Prep, manage, and host weekly coordination meetings with the GDOT/TIA team
- Tracking and monitoring of local Let projects to support the TIA Regional Coordinator in administering local government project delivery.
- Managing, tracking, and progressing all tasks associated with the GDOT/TIA Let design projects.
- Reviewing and approving consultant and local government invoices
- Attending relevant in-person project meetings that include, but are not limited to concept team meetings, local government coordination meetings, public information open houses, constructability review meetings, field plan reviews, etc.
- Review of milestone plan submittals.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering or technical discipline and 4 plus years of experience with GDOT design and/or project management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- A valid Driver’s License is required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred:
- GDOT Plan Development Process (PDP) training/experience.
- 2+ years of project management experience.
- 8+ years of transportation engineering experience.

The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $95,000 to $130,000.
