Summary:
The Oklahoma History Center Museum is seeking a part-time assistant to help with the planning and coordination of Oklahoma History Day. Applicants can expect to work an average of 20 hours per week, with heavier commitments periodically during the competition season, August through May, and must work on the date of the state contest, the first Wednesday and Thursday of May. Must be available between Monday-Saturday 8am-5pm with some periodic travel and evenings.
Education:
High School degree but Bachelor’s preferred, candidate must be familiar with Microsoft Office and Google applications. The position is not limited to currently enrolled students. Prior experience with History Day activities, data base management, and/or conference planning will characterize the successful applicant.
Duties will include:
Assisting with preparing curriculum materials for teachers including teacher and student workshops.
Communicating with teachers and students regarding questions about competition rules.
Assisting with Oklahoma History Day’s online presence including website and Facebook updates. Working with the online student and teacher registration system. Training will be provided. Communicating with teachers, students, and parents about online registration and paying registration fees.
Copying, collating, and organizing materials for judges, students, teachers, and volunteers for the day of competition. Addressing logistical issues on day of competition.
Other duties as they arise. May include some work on other projects of the Oklahoma History Center Museum.
