Faculty in Dallas College are expected to perform the duties enumerated in the formal Job Description; to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Dallas College Board of Trustees and outlined in the Dallas College Board Policy Manual; and to comply with both state and federal policy.
Work Location:
All positions are considered on-site roles.
After six months of employment, employees may have the opportunity to apply for a hybrid work schedule.
Academic positions (Faculty) require on-campus presence, even if the role involves teaching online classes, in accordance with state law.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in the discipline or an associate degree from a regionally accredited institution, and documented competency in the teaching discipline. Acceptable method to document competency in the discipline must include one of the following: Earned Certificate Degree in the discipline from a regionally accredited institution and three years of documented non-teaching work experience in the discipline, or an occupational license in the discipline issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration, the Texas Board of Plumbing Examiners, or by a recognized reciprocal entity, that allows the person to perform work in the discipline within the State of Texas. In addition, ELPT 1X15 may also be taught by individuals with a bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Business, Physics, Engineering, or related field. ELPT 1x21 and ELPT 1x80, may be taught by an individual who holds an Electrician Occupational License issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration, or by a reciprocal entity that also requires a minimum of 4-years experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Teach students in assigned classes in accordance with course descriptions and/or learning outcomes, the course syllabus, and institutional policies and procedures
Provide students with a syllabus that includes required institutional policies, course objectives, materials, and methods of evaluation
Provide a workload schedule showing teaching and office hours
Certify student attendance in classes by the established deadlines
Maintain accurate and complete course records
Submit final grades by the established deadlines
Communicate with and provide feedback to students in a timely fashion
Develop course curriculum and instructional materials (individually or collaboratively)
Use knowledge of diverse communities and skill sets to diversify teaching methods and delivery of content in instruction
Provide effective instruction to facilitate student learning in all classes taught
Evaluate and assess student learning on a regular basis in all classes taught
Participate in assessment activities at course, department, college, and district levels to assist students in achieving designated course objectives or learning outcomes
