Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance, support, development, reporting, problem identification and issue management for all supported VoIP and telecom systems, servers, and applications including cloud VoIP platforms.

Provide and manage a secure, high performance VoIP network, for services including VoIP, QoS, CoS, LAN’s, SBC’s, traditional TDM, SIP, and cloud-based telephony systems.

Create and update Visio diagrams and excel spreadsheets of an evolving environment and operational procedures.

Manage, order, and troubleshoot TDM and SIP circuits with various carriers.

Analyze and optimize voice QoS strategies throughout the network.

Provide technical guidance to the VoIP team and local IT resources for Move, Add, Change, and Delete requests as well as Tier 3 troubleshooting.

Provide expertise in updates, upgrades, and patches within the PBX and network environment.

Travel as needed to clinics throughout the country. Less than 25% travel.

The ability to work across multiple platforms on multiple projects with frequent communication, a working knowledge of all facets of this role, relevant regulations, organizational and departmental policies, and procedures are required.

Consistent review of and improvement to internal processes and workflows is essential in this role. Strong collaboration and communication skills are necessary to discuss and analyze new requirements with customers and users of future technology.

Works closely with the leadership and other key business decision-makers to identify current system needs as well as vetting of future technologies if needed. Participate in an agile development team, ensuring other members have the information and tools necessary to achieve accuracy. Strong ability to collaborate with peer groups to get buy-in and drive the vision of the business to realization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • **Networking Fundamentals**: Understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and routing protocols like OSPF and BGP.
  • **Cisco Networking**: Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls. Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (CME).
  • **VOIP Protocols**: Familiarity with VOIP protocols such as SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), H.323, MGCP (Media Gateway Control Protocol), and RTP (Real-Time Transport Protocol).
  • **Cisco Collaboration Solutions**: Hands-on experience with Cisco collaboration solutions including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), and Cisco Expressway.
  • **Voice Gateways Configuration**: Ability to configure and troubleshoot voice gateways such as Cisco ISR routers for PSTN connectivity and SIP trunking.
  • **Quality of Service (QoS)**: Understanding QoS mechanisms to prioritize voice traffic over data networks, ensuring quality voice calls.
  • **Unified Communications Security**: Knowledge of security measures for VOIP networks, including securing endpoints, implementing firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and encryption protocols.
  • **Troubleshooting Skills**: Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve VOIP-related issues promptly
  • **Scripting and Automation**: Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, etc.) for automation tasks and integration with monitoring systems.
  • **Documentation**: Ability to create detailed documentation including network diagrams, configuration guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • **Project Management**: Experience in managing VOIP projects, including planning, implementation, and post-deployment support.
  • **Continuous Learning**: VOIP technology evolves rapidly, so a willingness to continuously learn and stay updated with the latest Cisco technologies and certifications is essential.
  • **Customer Service Skills**: Effective communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for working with clients, understanding their requirements, and providing technical support.
