Position Summary:
Technicians are responsible for planning, organizing, and performing the necessary shop and maintenance functions to maintain the facility and/or equipment under minimal supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Safety rules, Nestlé Integrated Management System and all other company policies and procedures
- Complete AMM (Asset and Maintenance Management) work orders using shop equipment or portable equipment for work in the Fabrication area and other departments such as pilot plants
- Follow guidance of Senior Techs and Lead Techs to perform planned and organized required maintenance of the facility, machinery, and equipment
- Provide emergency support and repair including machining parts for production fixtures and equipment related breakdowns, safety, and quality issues
- Review and maintain fits, finishes and equipment functionality
- Perform welding and fabrication, including TIG, MIG, and Stick welding
- Perform hygienic hand welds, where required
- Figure routes, materials and connection types for complex piping runs; position pipe and fittings for power piping
- Operate machines to size, shape or form metal
- Assist others in setups and problem solving as requested
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and sketches
- Perform work based on verbal instructions and rough sketches
- Conceive ideas and produce parts to solve production problems
- Support a team environment
- Support maintenance and production activities outside of normal business hours
- Perform machine and material selections
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment by cleaning up equipment and work area at end of each shift
