Job Title: Environmental Services Technician

Department: Environmental Services

Reports To: Nutrition/Environmental Services Manager

Location: Hospital

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

The Laundry Aide is responsible for all cleaning of the facility linens and routine maintenance of cleaning equipment used.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Picks up dirty linen from service areas.
2. Sorts and weighs linen according to established procedure, and washes linen following the proper washing procedures and water temperatures.
3. Folds and delivers clean linen to service areas.
4. Ensures that defective is sent for repairs when necessary.
5. Maintains an appropriate amount of extra linen and informs Administrative Assistant when in need of more linen.
6. Follows proper handling techniques and procedures for isolation linen.
7. Keeps work areas clean and equipment, tools, and supplies properly stored.
8. Assists in training of co-workers and attends service area meetings on a regular basis.
9. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

3. Reports any health/medical errors.
4. Observes all Environment of Care policies and reports safety risks or hazards immediately.

Education, Training or Degree Required:

1. Must be able to read, write, make simple calculations, and follow oral and written directions accurately.

License/Registration/Certification Required: (will be primary source verified by HR)

1. None.

Experience and Skills:  (indicate preferred or required)

1. Previous experience working as a laundry aide is preferred.
2. General knowledge of linen and washing of linen is required.
3. Knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness is required.
4. Accuracy in following written and verbal orders is required.
