By leveraging Scale’s massive, industry-leading data infrastructure, we are partnering with frontier labs to build Foundation Models for Physical AI that will redefine the future of automation.
As a Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in reviving and expanding our internal learning content. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining training and equipment build, troubleshooting, and maintenance materials that empower our operators and ensure consistent knowledge transfer across various teams, including Robotics Operations, Robotics Engineering, Annotations Ops, Product, QMs, and TPMs. Your work will directly impact efficiency and training consistency, mitigating knowledge loss and ensuring standardized training.
Core Responsibilities
- Become the SME for all Robotics and collections systems used in the Business Unit, and transfer your knowledge to less-technical users by utilizing strong technical documentation strategies
- Identify and address knowledge gaps by creating new documentation, updating existing content, and developing new training materials to ensure all teams are using the newest tools and processes.
- Develop comprehensive training materials, including documentation, tutorials, guides, best practices, and certification processes, based on existing and new tools and processes tailored to the needs of various user groups including Operators, Technicians, Ops Leads, QMs, Engineering, and Annotation teams
- Content maintenance. Regularly review and update documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance and track changes over time and new releases
- Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (engineers, product managers, operators and other subject matter experts) to gather, synthesize, and translate complex technical information into clear, actionable documentation & training.
- Lead and assist in the delivery and support of training and onboarding programs.
Qualifications & Experience
Requirements
- Strong technical background (Bachelor's Degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field)
- 1+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a technology or software development environment.
- Strong understanding of technical documentation principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams.
- Ability to learn and understand complex technical concepts.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with content management systems.
- Entrepreneurial experience and mindset - you are excited about building things from scratch and are highly adaptable to constant change
Compensation packages at Scale for eligible roles include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position and may be inclusive of several career levels at Scale; it will be determined during the interview process based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Scale employees in eligible roles are also granted equity based compensation, subject to Board of Director approval.
