Job Description

Summary:  The Technical Writer develops, writes, and edits technical presentations and other on-line materials for internal and external users. The position supports projects related to internal operations and documentation, development of resource productivity tools and processes, process improvement initiatives, as well as applies best practices for documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Writes, process diagrams/guides, user guides and manuals,  for internal/external audiences. Translates technical information into clear, consistent and accurate user communication. Analyzes information needs in order to propose effective designs and develop usable content.
  • Supports documentation administration, development and configuration .  Performs analysis of business processes and requirements related to Verdegard applications and systems.  
  • Develops appropriate solutions and applications within required timelines.
  • Supports process improvement initiatives and provides documentation needs for Verdegard.
  • Participates in developing training documents for standard tools/processes and on-boarding.
  • Researches and evaluates new documentation tools and methods to improve documentation processes. 
  • Applies industry’s best practices.
  • Facilitates process improvement and department standardization projects by serving in various capacities such as development, documentation, coordination, etc.

No supervisory responsibilities.

Client Responsibilities

This is an internal client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written).  One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.

Education and/or Experience                                            

AA degree in Information Technology or related (or equivalent combination of education and experience); 2+ years' experience in software technical writing/development. Third Party Administrator, healthcare experience preferred.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have solid working knowledge of the following software and tools:

MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio. PowerPoint, etc.)
