About the role

 

Purpose:

The Training Manager Tower & Hoist will - lead the development and delivery of training programs for the tower division. This role ensures our technicians, operators, and service teams have the knowledge and skills to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment safely and efficiently.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement training programs for tower cranes and hoists, including classroom, hands-on, and virtual learning formats.
  • Create technical training materials such as manuals, presentations, and e-learning modules.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal staff, customers, and field technicians.
  • Assess competency levels and provide certification programs where applicable.
  • Collaborate with engineering and service teams to ensure training content reflects current technology and safety standards.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Track training effectiveness and continuously improve programs based on feedback and industry best practices. Regularly meet with technicians and service managers to identify training needs, performance gaps, safety concerns, and OEM training needs.
  • Serve as the organization’s technical go‑to expert for diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on tower cranes and hoists. Use the service data to recommend additional training or refinements to existing resources.

 

Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years in technical training or equipment maintenance, preferably in cranes, hoists, or heavy machinery.
    • Strong knowledge of tower crane and hoist systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.

 

  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to design engaging training content and use modern training technologies.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills.

 

  • Certifications: NCCCO or equivalent crane certification preferred

 

 

Language Skills:

Must be able to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively prepare and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
