Duties: Technical Systems Engineer
Implement and maintain a variety of hardware and software technologies. Perform systems integration and enhancements to maintain or improve high levels of system performance, interoperability, and availability of the operating platforms in support of the organization's computer applications and in conjunction with the overall goals and objectives. Provide service and support in an environment consisting of over 7,000 Devices: (Personal Computers, printers, SAN switches, storage, backup systems, and servers, etc.).Service and support multiple operating systems on the Client, Server, and datacenter environment. Provide 24-hour On-call support with rotating schedules. Frequently works with diverse groups of individuals with varying expertise and different needs which will require strong interpersonal skills and technical competence. Maintain, implement and manage over 1200 layered products. Maintain, implement, and manage over 4PB of storage. Maintain, implement, manage over 2,800 servers in a physical and virtual environment. Required Qualifications: Technical Systems Engineer
• Minimum of 3 years of information technology experience to include experience in multiple technologies required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or related field OR equivalent combination of education/experience combined required. (One year of education equals one year of experience in addition to other work experience.)
• Solid understanding of Linux filesystems, Bash command usage/syntax, Linux permissions and user management, NFS server configuration, and LVM required.
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, Node.js, or a related language required.
• Minimum of one completed training curriculum and/or certifications in the following required:
• CompTIA Linux+
• LPIC-1
• Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RH
