Job Summary
KLA is seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Engineer to support semiconductor manufacturing equipment for customers in Singapore and across regions in Asia. The TSE responds to complex issues when first-line product support has been unable to isolate or resolve problems with malfunctioning equipment. This position is responsible for providing advanced technical troubleshooting, managing equipment escalations, developing corrective action plans, and working cross-functionally with field service, engineering, product support, and customer teams to restore equipment performance and minimize production impact. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical capability, hands-on technical expertise, and professional communication skills to a fast-paced semiconductor fab environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for complex semiconductor equipment issues, including escalations that cannot be resolved by first-line field support.
- Analyze tool data, inspection reports, system logs, diagnostic results, and customer observations to determine root cause and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Develop, document, and communicate clear Plans of Action and Corrective Action Plans for customers, field service teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Support onsite customer escalations, including troubleshooting, corrective actions, recovery activities, and post-repair verification.
- Collaborate with Customer Service Engineers, Technical Support Managers, product engineers, design engineering, software teams, and regional experts to resolve escalations efficiently.
- Lead or support service alert and escalation meetings, track open actions, and provide timely technical updates to service management and customer-facing teams.
- Prepare professional service reports, escalation summaries, postmortem reports, and structured problem-solving documentation.
- Capture lessons learned and develop best-known methods, troubleshooting procedures, training materials, and technical documentation for regional service teams.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, customer acceptance activities, and production ramp readiness where technical support expertise is required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve product reliability, maintainability, serviceability, and training, and by providing feedback to the appropriate engineering or support organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years<
