About The Position


The Technical Services Coordinator will oversee a team of technical officers, leveraging their specialized skills in technology, building trades and sustainability. This team provides expert technical support and services to staff, students, and partners in order to achieve teaching and commercial objectives within the College of Vocational Education (VE). 

The role involves coordinating day-to-day operations to ensure technical facilities are developed, maintained, and operate to the highest industry and educational standards. Working across a diverse range of activities, equipment, and processes, the Technical Services Coordinator will develop innovative solutions to address the unique challenges of delivering education, fostering innovation, and maintaining dynamic learning environments.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have: 

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing staff to be service-oriented, flexible and responsive to changing needs. 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and lifecycle of equipment/resources. 

  • Proven technical knowledge and expertise in diverse technologies. 

  • High level of communication skills with the ability to provide instructions to a range of audiences. 

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver flexible solutions to technical problems, preferably within an educational context. 

  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining technical environments and studios, or equivalent industry experience, including coordinating maintenance of equipment and assisting in researching new technologies, systems and processes. 

  • Knowledge and application of OHS legislation and regulations particularly in regard to technical and studio environments.
