Technical Senior Analyst, Clinical Trials
TempusAbout the role
Passionate about making a difference in the world of cancer genomics?
With the advent of genomic sequencing, we can finally understand our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before but providers and researchers don't have the infrastructure to make sense of said data. Here at Tempus, we are building the infrastructure to modernize cancer treatment. By analyzing a patient’s genetic data in the context of molecular therapies, Tempus empowers physicians, researchers, and scientists to use real world data to make decisions in the clinic and for discovery of novel therapies.
We're on a mission to connect an entire ecosystem to redefine how genomic data is used in clinical and research settings. We're looking for people who are passionate about changing the status quo and bringing cancer care and research into the 21st century.
What You'll Do:
As a Technical Senior Analyst and Technical Annotator, you will be part of a team responsible for structuring eligibility criteria for our portfolio of clinical trials.
You should be reliable, resilient and an excellent communicator. You are comfortable working closely with research staff, developers, product managers, data scientists, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate directly with clinical experts and research staff to structure eligibility logic based on study protocols
- Validate that the inclusion and exclusion criteria has been configured to return expected results
- Investigate unexpected algorithmic output, working with others to get to the appropriate resolution
- Stay current with the Tempus data model and schemas in the patient database
- Assist research teams with ad hoc data analysis
We’re looking for:
- 2+ years of experience
- Some coding experience in basic query or data-serialization/configuration language, preferably YAML
- Knowledge of medical and genomic terminology, medical abbreviations and pharmacy terms and familiarity with medical documentation/EMR document structure
- Demonstrates curiosity and communicates effectively through multiple channels
- Self-starter with proven ability to work autonomously
- Be willing to learn new concepts related to data science and cloud computing
- Strong organization and analytical thinking skills
- Scrappiness with a bias toward action and sharing ideas early and often
- Intellectual curiosity to pursue the unknown and to continuously learn
- A personal desire to contribute to products that will save lives and change the course of cancer treatment
- Background or interest in Bioinformatics a plus
