- Work on generating a prototyping roadmap and working with the cross-functional partners in developing the requirements and specifications of prototypes.
- Plan and execute product prototype builds, including materials planning and factory readiness.
- Own system-level flexes and boards by managing the internal design review process and release to vendors, reviewing design changes with cross-functional teams, managing vendors and materials, and driving overall schedule for on-time delivery to final assembly.
- Establish daily build schedule and distribution plan for identified builds to support overall project plan for in-region and local builds.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams to understand key design changes requiring validation to accurately integrate engineering validation needs into the system build matrix.
- Provide clear executive-level reporting on build progress.
- Serve as primary point of contact for the program with our CM partners for the area and provide clear direction on requests to the factory.
- Requires Bachelor's degree (foreign degree equivalent accepted) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or related field and 6 months of experience in the job offered or in a closely related occupation
- Requires 6 months of experience in each of the following:
- Working as a technology development program manager for consumer electronics
- ODM/JDM/CM vendor engagement models
- Phase gate approach to technology development projects
- Mechanical system development, design for manufacturing, tooling, validation, and characterization processes
- Operating autonomously across multiple teams and projects
- Developing new technologies and integrating advanced systems in consumer electronics
