Technical Program Manager

OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a seasoned Technical Program Manager (TPM) for a 12 month contract (fully remote) in Canada or the US to support our client's Platform Engineering organization on a contract basis. In this role, you’ll drive execution and cross-team alignment for two critical focus areas: platform engineering initiatives and deprecation programs. You will coordinate efforts across engineering, product, and stakeholder teams to reduce operational risk, streamline platform maintenance, and manage the sunsetting of legacy services and features.

This is a high-impact role requiring strong organizational skills, technical fluency, and the ability to lead programs across multiple teams and time zones. Must have SRE, Observability, or DevOps knowledge / experience. 

Fully remote / must be eligible to work T4 (eligible to candidates in Ontario or Alberta ONLY) or W2 (across the USA) without sponsorship. 

  RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and manage the operational backlog, ensuring timely triage, prioritization, and resolution of support tasks and technical debt.

• Lead planning and execution of system‑wide deprecation efforts, coordinating stakeholders, communication plans, and risk mitigation.

• Facilitate cross‑functional meetings, status updates, and program reviews for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

• Create and maintain program documentation, timelines, and dashboards to surface progress and blockers.

• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to keep a healthy balance between new features, deprecations, and overall platform stability.

• Drive continuous process improvements that boost efficiency and reduce friction in execution.

    QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or Engineering Program Manager in a cloud‑based or platform‑engineering setting.

• Demonstrated success managing complex technical programs spanning multiple teams and stakeholders.

• Solid grasp of infrastructure, cloud architectures, and full software‑development lifecycles.

• Hands‑on experience leading deprecation, migration, or other large‑scale technical transitions.

• Exceptional communication, organization, and stakeholder‑management abilities.

• Proficiency with common program‑management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, or comparable solutions).

• Background in security‑focused or developer‑facing platform products is a PLUS!
