Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) team provides high quality service and experiences to keep Microsoft customers secure and productive by constantly building and delivering updates to the Azure Cloud and client properties, as well as all versions of the Windows operating system for consumer and enterprise customers.

 

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager II with proven customer focus and passion to lead technical projects and experiences for the Windows Server area. Responsibilities

  • Use data, customer feedback, anecdotal evidence, personal experience, and market perceptions to learn and understand Windows Server customer scenarios and expectations in depth.   
  • Identify and prioritize new Active Directory Scenarios that improve security, cloud migration, update, and upgrade capabilities. 
  • Manage Servicing for Active Directory components, collaborating with a team of engineers to deliver features, fixes, and security updates monthly, and track progress against common goals.  
  • Manage schedules, risks, and issues with effective communication to the team, to senior management and company executives, and partners inside and outside Microsoft. 

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional/ Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • o OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Skills and understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, Identity Systems, and Cloud Technologies. 
  • High integrity and effective leadership in applying a growth mindset to learn from experience and build trust within your team and with partners. 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply that learning to improve business outcomes and drive positive impact for the team and for your career. 
  • Working knowledge of software development processes and data workflow. 
  • Background in IT operations is a plus.

 

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
