About the role

Job Description Summary

The Technical Leader for Aeroderivative hot gas path static components will be part of the F/Annular/Aeroderivatives Hot Gas Path team and will be responsible for technical execution of Aeroderivatives hot gas path initiatives. This includes industrialization, repair development, life evaluation and extensions, as well as component redesigns for improvements. The Technical Leader will help develop required skillset of the team to successfully reverse engineer current designs, provide long term support, and drive towards achieving goals of the Aeroderivatives business. This will require deep involvement with
Cross Functional Engineering teams and Global Supply Chain teams; supporting and qualifying hardware for new factory introductions; supporting and performing RCA & CAPA activities with partners in Aeroderivatives Services and Systems; working hand in hand with the Repair Center of Excellence, the Global Supply Chain, and Product Management. These responsibilities will require both analytical and hands-on contributions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as technical focal for Aeroderivative hot gas path static components, implementing sound technical decisions across the entire part life span, from manufacturing to field learnings and redesigns
  • Coordinate reverse engineering, definition creation and release, and qualification of Aeroderivative components across cross functional teams
  • Lead “day-to-day” operations and follow-up to ensure deliverables and commitments are met
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to the team ensuring designs and deliverables comply with all requirements throughout design release, procurement/fabrication, assembly, and testing
  • Lead team by providing guidance regarding quality, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer and program needs
  • Communicate technical issues within Turbine Module team and as well as with interfacing organizations such as Clearances, Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Suppliers, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Customer Service Engineering
  • Participate and present in formal and informal technical reviews for all design tasks and output with Controlled Title Holders, following the documented NPI and RCA Processes 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering / Science from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 8 years Engineering Experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience designing and analyzing turbine hot gas path components
  • Knowledge of qualification/manufacturing process and repair of turbine hot gas path components
  • Experience executing on Cross Fleet Solutions initiatives is a plus
  • Leading and mentoring mindset, ability to guide and help others grow
  • Solid understanding of Engineering principles and the ability to utilize these skills
  • Effective interpersonal, facilitative, and organizational skills
  • Customer satisfaction mindset with strong quality orientation
  • Effective oral and written communication, both within the team and to external teams
