Technical Instructor/Courseware Developer

Overview

Penguin Solutions is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Technical Instructor/Courseware Developer to join our team to develop quality training materials and lead training sessions for customers on Penguin Solution offerings.  The Technical Instructor/Courseware Developer plays a key role in supporting each function within Operations and specifically orienting and training of customers on the company’s standard product offerings and service support procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, and implement product, customer and departmental specific training documentation for classroom and virtual training
• Instruct and demonstrate how to apply Penguin Solution knowledge and develop skills by teaching training sessions, webinars, and workshops 
• Gather metrics and analyze data for all documentation and training efforts and follow up for continuous improvement
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and provide recommendations for improvement
• Deliver instructor-led training on-site or via remote live training sessions
• Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise on the Penguin Solution product line
• Collaborate with managers, engineers, and vendors/partners to assess documentation and training needs, certification requirements and areas for improvement
• Coordinate with customers, engineers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and product marketing specialists to ensure training accuracy
• Work closely with SMEs to develop content that provides realistic and understandable context for learning objectives and learners
• Review, evaluate, and renew existing training programs
• Analyze organizational training needs, create surveys, and develop certification tests to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs

Qualifications

• Must have excellent written and verbal skills including editing and proofreading with an aptitude to write in a clear, succinct style and develop interactive and engaging content that promotes learning and retention
• Knowledge of various training and teaching methodologies
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent experience
• Ability to clearly present complex topics in an understandable way to students 
• Strong working knowledge of IT concepts
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a technical courseware developer and technical training role
• In-depth knowledge of Linux cluster technologies and optimization techniq
