This role is part of our Youth & Recreational Sports group, comprised of technology platforms such as SportsEngine, GoMotion, TourneyMachine, and TeamUnify. We enable athletes, parents, coaches and team administrators in the youth and recreational space to manage their organizations, collect payments, share schedules, find programs to participate in and connect with other families. Additionally, NCSI enables leagues and organizations to properly screen and train coaches in an effort to keep kids safe.

Job Description

NBC Sports Next is hiring a QA Manager to lead quality and test automation efforts for the SportsEngine platform. This role will be responsible for managing and leading a team of QA Engineers who perform both manual and automated testing.  

Job Duties:

  • Manage and lead a team of QA Engineers. 
  • Research and execute industry best practices for test automation. 
  • Build and maintain test automation frameworks. 
  • Works with QA Engineers on career planning & development, goal setting and performance management. 
  • Track quality metrics. 
  • Incorporate and maintain tests and test frameworks in CI/CD pipeline. 
  • Works with other engineering leaders to set quality standards across the organization. 
  • Mentor team members with complex technical and design issues. 
  • Propose technical solutions for complex problems within the team and company. 
  • Works across teams to help align quality assurance priorities based on business needs. 

Qualifications

All candidates must meet the minimum qualifications below:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline. 
  • 4+ year’s experience building test automation scripts and frameworks to include strong knowledge and hands on experience in; 
  • Coding/scripting with languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby. 
  • Test automation frameworks like Cypress, Jest, Selenium. 
  • Mobile automation frameworks like Appium, Xamarin. 
  • Engineering tools like GitHub, Travis CI. 
  • Productivity tools and their APIs such as JIRA, Teams, Slack. 
  • Collaborating with local and offshore employees and contractors. 
  • Agile development methodologies. 

Desired candidates may demonstrate the following:

  • Experienced in managing a team and/or coaching and developing others 
  • Passionate about technology trends and all things related to testing. 
  • A team player as well as a leader with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Expert at documenting work. 
  • Deep knowledge of agile delivery principles and supporting processes. 
  • Expert understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. 

Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
