The Egis engineering division is now almost 200 people strong across four offices in Dublin, Castlebar, Cork and Limerick. This role can be based from any of these.
Job Description
Egis is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead and manage the tender-stage delivery for the MetroLink Dublin project, acting as Egis’ senior technical and managerial authority within a contractor or JV bidding environment.
The role will have full accountability for bid leadership, governance, programme control, technical integration, and assurance of all Egis inputs, with a primary focus on systems, MEP, and station integration across a major underground automated metro scheme. If awarded, the role will transition into overall project delivery leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Tender Leadership & Governance
- Act as Egis’ Project Director for the MetroLink bid, with overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, governance, and timely delivery of all Egis tender inputs.
- Establish and manage the bid execution plan, including scope definition, responsibilities, approvals, programme, and internal/external interfaces.
- Ensure full compliance with client requirements, ITT documentation, evaluation criteria, and Irish statutory and regulatory obligations.
Technical & Design Authority
- Provide senior leadership for systems and MEP tender design, covering stations, depot, trackside systems, and interfaces with civil and architectural works.
- Define the technical strategy, assumptions, methodologies, and design standards for the bid, ensuring alignment with automated metro requirements and best practice.
- Act as final technical authority for Egis submissions, ensuring clarity, robustness, and bid competitiveness.
Joint Venture & Partner Management
- Represent Egis at senior level within the JV or contractor bidding organisation.
- Align technical scope, resources, risk allocation, and delivery strategy with JV partners.
- Proactively manage interfaces, dependencies, and shared risks to ensure a coherent and unified bid.
Programme, Commercial & Risk Management
- Lead the tender programme, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and to the required quality.
- Oversee resource planning, fee management, and cost control for Egis’ tender scope.
- Lead identification, assessment, and mitigation of technical, programme, and delivery risks, contributing to the overall bid risk register.
- Support value engineering, optioneering, and whole-life cost optimisation initiatives.
Quality Assurance & Assurance Reviews
- Implement Egis’ quality management and assurance processes throughout the bid.
- Ensure all technical outputs are appropriately reviewed, verified, and approved prior to submission. <
