Job Description
This position will own all specs, grades, fit sessions and will communicate directly with suppliers to ensure proper understanding of corrections needed for next sample stage. The role of Technical Designer will be responsible for managing any construction improvements and will work closely with technical design partners, design and product development to collectively make great quality active apparel. There is an opportunity for additional responsibilities in this role as we continue to grow as a brand.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- New style set up with specs (could include collaboration on pattern creation from scratch with Sr. TD)
- Manage/Maintain all specs and grades from initial set up through production (proto’s, PPs, Size Sets, TOPs) in Excel and Full Circle (once integrated onto F/C Enterprise)
- Prepares and leads fittings (measures garments / reviews possible shaping issues a head of time)
- Organizes all fit models and time needed a head of time (schedules the fitting times)
- Communicates all fit and construction related comments to the vendor and internal teams within development and production timelines and in a professional manner
- Establishes and maintains fit, construction standards and blocks to ensure brand consistency and quality
- Responsible for managing and hitting all deadlines along with communicating any issues
- Works to improve fit and quality through review of customers comments, sales feedback, and understanding of competition
- Experience with reading and correct patterns either through software or via other methods (taking photos, drawing on patterns, etc.)
- Complete understanding and knowledge of grading
- Comfortable with working on variety of categories (knit, woven, performance, or lifestyle)
- Organized with time management and attention to detail.
- Full understanding of styles, historical issues, understanding of fabrications and strong communication internally and externally with vendors
- Is a team player, able to work closely with other team members to help manage overall workload with regards to construction, fit, approvals, comments, timelines, etc.
- Responsible for providing all product related details (inseam, HPS length, etc) for catalog / website
Qualifications
- Degree in tech design, patternmaking, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical design
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with cross functional teams (design, development and production)
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Must be able to work proficiently in Google/Google Drive/Gmail, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Illustrator
- Knowledge of computer patternmaking is preferred (Gerber, 3D V-Stitcher / Browzswear, etc.)
- Knowledge of PLM is a plus
- Experience communicating with vendors overseas is a plus

Pay Range: $80,000 - $90,000
