Technical Consultant (US based)

We are looking for a Technical Consultant with knowledge of the motor or lubricant industry to join our Data Application Team.

The Data Application Team is responsible for working directly with customers in implementing their product branding strategies, as well as identifying and standardizing equipment information and lubricant specifications for components of that equipment on a worldwide basis.

Job Function

Product Matching

• To complete product matching on behalf of customers
• To support customers to maintain and update their own product matching.
• To collaborate with colleagues in developing product matching ‘best practices’ including use of PM software.
• To take an active role in testing new releases of PM by both following testing guidelines provided by the developers and tests suggested by fellow members of the Product Matching Group

Data Checking and Sourcing

• To check and report any data issues raised by oil company clients via Jira board.
• To assist Data input team be supplying source data supplied by clients/internal on any inconsistencies to aid any technical amendment.

Technical Help Desk

• Providing support in line with agreed procedures to the Customer Support team regarding queries raised on Product Matching issues.
• Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with customers and provide added value to them on a consistent, ongoing basis.

Requirements

Skillset

Required Skills

• Distributor based history – used to dealing with end users and knowledge of lubricants/specifications.
• Good communications skills
• Being able to work in groups and as an individual
• Basic computer skills

Desirable Skills

• Oil company background – preferably technical role.
• Mechanical knowledge – ability to understand the workings of engines/transmissions etc would be a great advantage.
• Skills/hobbies related to motorsport or mechanical bodies would be an advantage.
