 Sycamore Services is looking for Residential Team Leads!  
 

Supervises: DSP/Community Consultants

Environment: 100% Residential

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Program Coordinator, Director of Residential Services


Purpose:

  •  The Residential Direct Support Professional Team Lead oversees a team of direct support professionals (DSPs) in a residential setting. 
  •  Committed to designing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive support plans that prioritize meaningful engagement and autonomy. Act as a mentor and advocate to facilitate successful outcomes for participants in various programs, ensuring they receive tailored support and guidance.
  •  Maintain accurate case records and documentation for all assigned individuals and locations, while consistently upholding and promoting the agency’s mission statement to foster inclusive and supportive environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, mentor, support, assign caseloads, and assess staff performance of direct subordinates, including Community Consultants when Program Coordinator is unavailable.
  • Assist with hiring and training of staff. Ensure training including documentation has been completed, signed and submitted to HR.
  • Assist with conducting 90-day performance evaluation on all staff supervised.
  • Assist with conducting annual performance review of all staff supervised and assist with coordinating and leading meetings and other staff activities.
  • Assist staff with providing services and staffing/coverage needs as necessary.
  • Ensure staff’s time is scheduled and entered daily.
  • Assist with coordinating staff assignments and provide/ensure individual participant training has been completed.
  • Assist with ensuring outcomes for people with disabilities based upon their desires, interests, and personal plans for the future.
  • Assist with developing program curriculum for both individuals and groups in accordance with ISP goals.
  • Assist with overseeing behavior plans making sure staff tracks any client behavioral issues.
  •  Ensure daily tasks are completed including but not limited to: goals, assigned activities, medication administration and assistance with hygiene/toileting needs.
  • Assist with budgeting for monthly program expenses, including but not limited to: Cooking and Health classes.

Facilitation:

  • Ensure that efforts are undertaken to implement each participant’s choices.
  • Provide opportunities for inclusion through training, advocacy, social interactions, invitations to participate, behavioral support, and planned activities.
  • Provide input/feedback for individual-served Annual, Quarterly and as needed meetings.
  • Lead group activities and discussions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
  • Assist individuals in emergency drills or incidents in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Assist with monitoring consumer funding utilization.
  • Monitor Goals and Objectives to enhance individual’s independence and assure meaningfulness.
  • Assist with updating information as necessary and maintain participant files and case records in accordance with agency, funding source and CARF standards including assuring all pertinent records are submitted to be uploaded into the client electronic file.
  • Complete incident and accident report as warranted.
  • Provide on-going monitoring of ISP to ensure success and make suggestions to the Program Coordinator should changes need to be made. 
  • Maintain open communication with families, care providers, agency staff and state agencies.
  • Assess the satisfaction of participants, families and other providers.
  • Assist with overseeing administration of medications in accordance with support plans and agency policies.
  • Assist with maintaining program, First Aid and safety supplies.
  • Assist with development/maintaining safety and incident procedures within assigned locations in accordance with agency policies.

Requirements

  •  High School Diploma or GED required.
  •  Experience working with persons with disabilities for at least 1 year preferred.
  •  Excellent people, written, and communication skills.
  •  Demonstrated ability to organize and teach others.
  •  Ability to work flexible, non-standard hours.
  •  Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
  •  Basic computer skills for data entry and email.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift at least 35 pounds; upper body leverage strength required.
