Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Assists the Supervisor in Supervising associates and activities of workers in respective departments, preparing paperwork, and monitoring work flow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Studies production schedules and sets priorities for jobs to be completed in conjunction with direction from the supervisor.
- Enforces work procedures to meet production schedules using knowledge of the area.
- Follow production targets for department.
- Able to Interpret specifications, & blueprints.
- Explains company policies to their team and enforces all policies and safety regulations.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, or quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the departments and work teams.
- Drives lean initiatives and 5S procedures to improve productivity and safety.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist team members in solving work problems.
- Initiates or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
- Train new workers in safety, operation of equipment, and standards of quality and efficiency.
- Prepares miscellaneous reports when required.
- Maintains quality requirements and alerts the quality department when standards are not being met.

- Assist in the supervision of hourly associates in the direct work area.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- A minimum of a high school diploma (GED) required, an associates business management degree preferred or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Minimum of one to three years’ experience in a similar position and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Specific Skills
- High integrity and honesty with a commitment to company values.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and intermediate math applications (percentages, conversions, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop others.
Systems (hardware, software, computer, etc.)
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Skills in Excel necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Able to reach above head.
- Sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 80 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Extreme heat and vibration on occasion.
- Moderate to high noise level
