Job Description3rd Shift - Full Time (Fab)
As a Team Leader at Caterpillar Inc., you will assist the department supervisor to implement daily production plans supporting the organization's vision and quality objectives
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Follows all applicable policies and procedures including safety and health
Required to work overtime schedule as requested to meet production needs based on established overtime procedures
Issue day to day instruction/details to employees to satisfy the needs and requirements of the daily build
Respond with urgency to situations, resolving issues or engaging support resources as needed
Responsible for the safety for self and others entering the work area, ensuring proper PPE use as required
Ensure employees are trained properly
Be a role model for the Caterpillar culture - reinforcing Our Values in Action
Assist in the creation, training and implementation of standardized work processes
Ensure essential information is shared with Section Manager in a timely manner to include quality, staffing, safety and production issues
Keep work area clean and organized according to 5S standards, maintain all tools
Available to assist in other areas as needed
Enter Purchase Orders
Champion End to End Built In Quality
Quality Gate/In Process Validation as needed
Assembly Quality Event Entry as needed
Assist in Rework management and instruction
Ability to weld production as needed (Team Lead may spend as much as 70% of time welding as needed)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Welder
Good working knowledge Built in Quality (BIQ), and Assembly Quality Event (AQE)
Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
Ability to work overtime
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Good computer skills with working knowledge/experience of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
Working knowledge of SAP

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be physically mobile with ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach and climb
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 35 lbs minimally, up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
Must be able to see, hear and speak
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Subject to inside environmental conditions – protected from weather conditions but not temperature changes – exposure to occasional temperature extremes (below 32 degrees or above 100 degrees)
Subject to outside environmental conditions
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
3rd Shift (11:00 pm to 7:30 am)
Pay starts at $19.85 hr (3rd shift will receive an additional $1.00 hr for working an off shift)
Full time position - benefits, holidays, and 401K eligibility included
