Job Description:

 

We are seeking a Canadian Income Tax & Data Analyst to join our team of tax professionals, based out of our Concord, Ontario head office location. This role provides the ultimate in flexibility including remote working and flexible hours, the successful incumbent will be responsible for servicing a diverse group of Canadian companies in the manufacturing, extraction and construction and building materials industries.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Tax compliance and reporting projects including tax return and information return preparation
  • Analysis, research and documentation of income tax positions and preparation of related working papers;
  • Tax accounting including assisting with quarterly tax provision computations and a large fixed asset portfolio
  • Liaising with tax authorities on various compliance matters
  • Assessment analysis and tax payment reconciliation
  • Special projects and research as assigned


Experience & Educational Requirements:

  • Experience in Tax, Accounting, Finance or related fields
  • Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or Finance
  • Good foundational knowledge of federal and provincial corporate taxation.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and strong data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Taxprep software and data analytics tools are an asset.


Position Dimensions:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Knowledge of French, an asset.
  • Solid organizational, analytical and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to work independently, in a dead-line driven environment.
  • Ability to develop interactive working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to think outside the box and share ideas to improve our ways of working.
