The Tax Accountant will be a member of the Corporate Tax Team responsible for tax planning, reporting, compliance, and defense, as well as the application of controls that assure these objectives are met in timely and accurate manner. Primary responsibilities include the preparation and review of federal, state, local, and international tax returns, and accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns
- Prepare responses to notices and audit information requests from federal, state, and local authorities
- Assist with tax account reconciliations
- Perform tax research on less complex topics and suggest responses to changes in tax law, regulations, and guidelines
- May recommend financial actions that may lessen the organization’s tax liability while meeting organizational goals and maintaining compliance with laws and regulations
- Assist with accounting projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
- 0-3 years of corporate tax experience
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to accurately prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks on time
- Proactive team player with a strong desire to learn and grow
- Experience with consolidation software, such as OneStream or Hyperion, is a plus
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of tax accounting practices
- Broad knowledge of accounting theory, practices, and procedures that include cost accounting, preparation of financial reports, and related budgetary control reporting
