Table Games Supervisor/Trainer

JOB SUMMARY: 

 Analyzes all games procedures and policies as outlined in department and company manuals and in accordance with Internal Controls, and monitors these for compliance. Trains Team members and maintains the approved “game certification” process. Works with suppliers to understand and train “new” games, assist in approving layout artwork and analyzes the ergonomic impacts of the dealing procedures. Maintains the approved retraining process and the paperwork that is needed to comply with VA Lottery guidelines and agreements. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

• Assists in staff selection of dealers eligible for additional games training.  
• Complete understanding and adherence to disciplinary policies, including but not limited to, coaching and counseling staff and the use of the progressive discipline to modify performance.  
• Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.  
• Effective communicator to ensure that consistent, accurate and timely information is provided to all properties.  
• Effectively handles customer concerns and requests.  
• Addresses and manages training concerns from Team Members.  
• Teaches guest service and “toke” techniques to Table Games Team Members  
• Utilizes effective communication tools to ensure that consistent, accurate and timely information is provided through the properties.  
• Ensures that staff behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards.  
• Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff.  
• Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information at all times.  
• Participates in meetings and training as required.  
• Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.  
• •Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.  
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the casino floor, and input on projects.  
• Represent property on any public gathering as directed by management.  
• Is available to work any hours needed to assess the team and train all shifts.  
• Able to interact with the Compliance Manager to develop, troubleshoot, and modify working programs that streamline Internal Controls and Policies and Procedures.  
• Able to develop and implement planning for a training area to include all game types.  
• Able to work as a Supervisor or above when needed. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

 Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.  

• Minimum of 5 years experience in Table Games as a dealer or above.  
• Advanced knowledge and the ability to deal and train Craps, Poker, Carnvival Games, Blackjack, Baccarat and Roulette.  
• Management level experience in table games operations and thorough knowledge of all casino games is preferred.  
• Results oriented, hands-on professional with the ability to interact effectively with the public, staff and colleagues.  
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Ability to: read, analyze, interpret and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, business periodicals, instructions, and correspondence/memos; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or staff, customers and the general public. 
• Advanced working knowledge of Excel and Word required.  
• Attention to detail and accuracy.  
• Ability to obtain a VA Lottery License
