We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager 2 based out of our McClellan or San Jose locations in Northern California.

What You'll Get to Do:

The Functional manager will lead a team of approximately 10-15 engineers working within the Signal Intelligence and Autonomous & Intelligence Solutions Operating Units (OUs) within the Cyber & Information Solutions (C&IS) Business Unit (BU). The successful candidate will lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies. Specific responsibilities include coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions, evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary as well as working to refine the systems engineering process and tools utilized for program excellence and design assurance. The manager is also responsible for supporting Request for Proposals (RFPs), Proposal Execution, and providing engineering consulting support to Business Development (BD) entities.

The qualified candidate shall also be a technical performer, working approximately 80% directly on programs preferably involving SIGINT or A&IS OUs, representing our Engineering and Sciences organization both in the OU and BU. Experience with mentoring and people management is highly desirable.

The Manager will support and be accountable for goals including:

  • Cultivate an inclusive and engaging workplace. Ensure employees’ work life balance is appropriate.
  • Workforce: maintain staff adequate to execute to program plans, as well as for strategic growth. Plan assignments and fill program needs to ensure success, but which also offer growth to the individuals performing the work.
  • Performance management: on an ongoing basis engage with staff to identify growth opportunities, deficiencies, appropriate training, etc. Execute to the Enterprise review cycle. Manage compensation and career progression
  • Create and maintain forward-looking processes which align to strategic goals.
  • Facilitate and drive engineering engagement in proposals and business development within the BU portfolio.
  • Facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters.
  • Provide cross division capture and program Independent Reviews

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8 years of relevant experience in the field of Systems Engineering and/or System Integration and Test; or 6 years of relevant experience in the field of Systems Engineering and/or System Integration and Test with a Masters (MS) degree.
