Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineering Cross Product Team (CPT) Lead for the Coyote Block 3 Plus (CB3+) program.

CB3+ is a loitering munition that includes an airframe, avionics, and sensors, as well as a launch system. Raytheon is executing a contract from the U.S. Navy for the purchase of this new addition to the Coyote product line with potential future sales in review. Currently, the program is transitioning from development to production. Your leadership of the Systems Engineering team will have a pivotal impact on the program at a critical time of its execution and your decisions will help shape its path forward.

This is an onsite position based in Tucson, AZ. The selected candidate will be assigned to the Land and Air Defense Systems strategic business unit.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the CB3+ Systems Engineering team to make technical decisions, manage risks, and drive verification of the product
  • Define, prioritize, and communicate tasks to a Systems Engineering team of at least eight members
  • Ensure alignment with program objectives, technical requirements, cost, and schedule constraints
  • Act as a technical interface between engineering, program management, suppliers, and customers
  • Utilize the expertise of Responsible Engineering Authorities (REA) and other engineering teams to make informed decisions, ensure design compliance, and system performance
  • Resolve technical challenges delivering a high-quality, mission-ready solution that meets all performance, reliability, and compliance requirements
  • Travel up to 10% of the time to interface with customers and suppliers

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior experience
  • Experience leading teams in system qualifications, including prioritizing and tracking requirements verification activities
  • Prior team leadership developing plans and executing them to achieve project objectives within schedule and budget
  • Earned Value Management experience monitoring project schedule and cost performance, including identification of variances, creation of revised estimates, and reporting
  • Experience performing Risk & Opportunity management
  • Experience completing Systems Engineering contributions to proposals, such as basis of estimates, and conducting their review
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Knowledge of DOORS and CAMEO for requirements allocation, traceability and management
  • Experience with verification of sensors, rocket motors, initiation devices (ISD, ESAF) and UAVs
  • Capable of organizing and conducting technical and programmatic reviews with internal and external customers
  • Experience generating and maintaining technical documentation, such as specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Test Requirement Documents (TRDs), and Verification Cross Reference Matrices
  • Capable of conducting trade studies and analyses, and guiding their influence on system architectural decisions
  • Experience working with personnel from various disciplines, such as REAs, Quality and Reliability, in a production environment
