None/Not RequiredAs a Systems Engineer Co-Op, you will be at the forefront of managing and developing systems on a global scale, playing a crucial role in ensuring the uninterrupted movement of the Aviation industry. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the messaging data in transit and ensuring the timely arrival of you, your loved ones, and all passengers worldwide. The systems you will manage are the backbone of over 1,500 aviation customers, transmitting a staggering 75 million messages daily across the Aviation community. We are seeking a highly motivated student with an ambitious and diverse technical background to support and contribute to this awesome mission.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
What You Will Do:
Manage computer systems and networks at our data center in Annapolis, MD
Support on-site activities including racking devices, cabling and deploying new systems.
Maintain system documentation and inventory
Develop test cases to ensure connectivity and data transmission.
Support designing and developing complex systems for the Aviation community.
What You Will Learn:
YOU will deepen your knowledge and understanding of using Linux to deploy sophisticated COTS and Collins’ web-based applications and microservices.
YOU will learn how aviation data moves behind all the airline ticketing and baggage check-in, how engines transition data to their services, how passenger information is transitioned across country borders, and overall how the aviation industry moves.
YOU will gain insights into team dynamics and how to foster collaboration, trust, and effective communication within our teams.
YOU will be exposed to the variety of business and products in an ever-evolving field.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
Student focused on Systems Engineering or a degree in a related field.
Strong knowledge of computer systems and networks
Familiarity with Linux operating System
Strong Problem-solving skills
