Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking support on our United States Coast Guard Acaddemy IT support team in support of administration duties of the Shipboard Control and Navigation System (SCANTS) Vessel Simulation system.  Candidates would be responsible for:

• Perform system operation and student training in accordance with user manuals and lesson plans
• Load and configure scenarios in preparation for training evolutions and student feedback sessions
• Simulate target vessel activities by responding to radio calls from traffic vessels using proper radiotelephone communications procedures contained in radiotelephone handbook, CGTTP 6-1.1 (series)
• Perform role-based exercises including lookout, commanding officer, traffic vessels while simulating internal and external communications as needed
• Operate and maintain shipboard systems and coordinate maintenance and repair activities with 3rd party maintenance support as necessary

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
• Knowledge of maritime rules of the road and use cases for both U.S. Inland and International rules
• Knowledge and operation of maritime bridge console components, including electronic charting display and information system (ECDIS) and radar displays
• U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
