As a member of the BGS Analytics Lifecycle Data business team, you will work with data scientists, software engineers, business intelligence specialists, systems engineers and others to assist them in finding and using the data that will address their business problems. You will call upon your engineering and aerospace knowledge and knowledge of the data in the associated systems to help them identify the data they need, and you will document those needs and communicate those needs to our partner IT team to design and develop a data solution that will meet those needs.
This is a hybrid position that allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the Seattle, WA location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
Use an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
Basic Qualifications (Required):
10+ years’ experience with Reliability, Maintainability and System Health analysis and predictions
5+ years’ experience performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired):
9+ years’ experience of Reliability, Maintainability, and Systems Health (RM&SH)
Master's degree and course work in statistics
Electrical Engineering degree or course work
Military experience, while not required is desirable
Experience as a technical lead for an engineering team
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
