Job Description

The Team:

The Technology & Operations department provides Technical Support, Engineering, Media Operations, Production and Studio services for the New Jersey/New York based NBCU Local duopoly NBC / Telemundo News Organization. The Technology team has responsibility for partnering with our stakeholders to build, deploy and support the systems powering our content production operations in Fort Lee, New Jersey and 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

The Job:

Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Systems Engineer will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering internal customer-oriented solutions, mission critical platforms, and ensuring the highest levels of availability and performance. The role will suit individuals who are excited by the opportunity to work on transitioning WNJU to a new custom-built facility in the iconic 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

Responsibilities:

• Provide troubleshooting & support for infrastructure, systems and applications, including root cause analysis, working with internal / external support teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Help evaluate and optimize workflows related to all media production systems including video networking, editorial tools, edit, media asset management, encode / decode platforms, distribution systems and other workflow tools.
• Deploy and manage infrastructure including virtualized Windows & Linux environments in both on prem & cloud.
• Participate in testing, deploying and operationalizing new technology and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain SOP’s and system documentation for operational and troubleshooting purposes.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.
• Salary Range: 75k-95k/annually 

Qualifications

Bonus Skills, Certifications and Experience:

• VM Ware Certified Professional
• CCNA/CCNP
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Experience in a similar role with an ISP, media company, systems integrator or other relevant industry.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Broadcast Engineering or similar with 3+ years’ experience preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
