As a System Engineer I, you’ll play a hands-on role in building and supporting Meridian’s technical infrastructure. From hardware and networks to software and databases, you’ll help design, implement, and maintain the systems that keep our organization and customers running strong.

What You’ll Do:

  • Designing and maintaining infrastructure, network, and system software components.
  • Troubleshooting issues with hardware, software, and network connectivity.
  • Investigating root causes and recommending preventative solutions.
  • Researching and designing best-fit architectures for infrastructure and security.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Partnering with vendors and service providers to resolve system-related issues.
  • Leading with innovation—bringing creative ideas to improve processes and solutions.
  • Occasionally representing Meridian at conferences and networking events.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft-based environments and software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of enterprise operating systems, networking concepts, and protocols.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring systems, virtualization technologies (VMware, HyperV), storage administration, and system troubleshooting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical, solution-oriented, and flexible mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Certifications

  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)

  • Paid Time Off:  Eligible to begin accrual from date of hire; accrual amount based on years of service. Beginning accrual rate equivalent to 22 days per year. 10 holidays which include the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. Up to 240 hours of PTO can roll over to the following year.
  • Volunteer Time: 8 hours per year
  • Retirement: Robust 401K. Following one year of eligible service, the Company contributes in two ways: (1) match of 100% of each dollar you contribute on the first five percent (5%) of eligible compensation, and (2) Employer basic contribution of 4% of base salary (with increases in basic contribution percentage based on years of service). Employees are 100% vested in Company funded contributions from the date they enter the plan.
