Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
KLA is seeking a dynamic and adaptable Systems Engineer to join the program. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment and is passionate about turning complex concepts into robust, scalable products. You will play a key role in the design, development, and productization of advanced gas recovery systems, with a focus on system-level engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, integration, and optimization of xenon recovery and vacuum systems, leveraging expertise in gas-surface chemistry and vacuum instrumentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, software, and process engineering.
- Architect and implement control systems using platforms such as LabVIEW and Python, integrating hardware and software for automation and diagnostics.
- Design and validate gas handling subsystems including flow control, pressure regulation, and leak detection, informed by kinetic modeling and simulation.
- Apply hands-on experience in system assembly, testing, and troubleshooting, including custom instrumentation and mass spectrometry
- Coordinate with vendors for component selection, procurement, and performance validation, ensuring alignment with system requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, drawing on experience in high-rigor laboratory environments.
- Support the transition from R&D prototypes to commercial products, including documentation, testing protocols, and manufacturing readiness.
- Develop and maintain system-level documentation such as interface control documents, requirements specifications, and test plans.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and tools.
- Travel to customer sites for initial installation and escalations. About 10% international travel
Additional Preferred Skills
- Experience in productization of R&D systems into commercial tools.
- Knowledge of gas recovery technologies, rare gas handling, or cryogenic systems.
- Familiarity with vacuum system design and integration.
- Background in semiconductor capital equipment or related high-tech industries.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to define, simulate, and validate system architectures. Familiarity with MBSE tools and methodologies (e.g., SysML, Cameo, MagicDraw).
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years
