Job Summary:
This role is essential in building strong partnerships with central business operations leaders and tenant partner stakeholders to gather business requirements, drive system process improvements, and strategize on new functionality and enhancements based on institutional priorities. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, collaborative problem-solver, and strategic thinker who brings a positive, team-oriented approach to managing key functions of a comprehensive Workday system in a higher education environment.The individual in this role will be expected to execute deliverables of the highest quality and present leading practice solutions for the Collin College Workday Enterprise.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Meet regularly with key stakeholders in assigned departments to discuss business needs and recommend data analytics and reporting solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of departmental processes and procedures.
- Develop, manage, and optimize Workday workflows, electronic forms, security roles, approval paths, system tables, systems integrations, and system implementations/upgrades. Work closely with HR and IT staff and third-party vendors, as necessary.
- Customize and extend Workday functionalities in accordance with business needs.
- Develop and prepare HR Workday reports, metrics, dashboards, and proposals, including state and federal reports, compensation surveys, and additional HR data requests.
- Create ad hoc reports to meet user specifications. Design report formats and create functional specifications for complex reports. Validate report output and address issues.
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with administration and functional areas on all problems and the status of current projects on a regular basis.
- Troubleshoot Workday systems issues and partner with the HR team on project-specific initiatives, including design, testing, and implementation.
- Develop work products in accordance with backlog prioritization for all system updates and enhancement projects. Provide status updates and ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Maintain the highest level of data integrity. Conduct data audits and make or coordinate data entry changes with the HR team. Document and maintain data governance and protocols to support data quality.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Five (5) years of related human resources and/or information systems experience, which includes at least two (2) years of Workday configuration and release-management experience
Preferred
Master’s degree in information technology, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
