DreamWorks Animation is seeking a Systems Administrator to join its multi-platform Infrastructure Engineering and Operations team. As a member of this team, you will administer the studio’s Linux and Windows infrastructure ranging from daily, business as usual tasks, to more complex deployments, upgrades, and systems programming. You will be a key resource for the studio collaborating and aiding in trouble with various technical teams, supporting production teams with solutions, and working with other server, storage, network and data center engineers on a regular basis.

Job Description
“What would you say you do here?”
- Designing, updating, and maintaining systems that provision and update operating systems (currently done via Foreman and Chef)
- Linux package repository management
- Design and modification of the Linux desktop environment
- Regular cadence of Linux security updates
- Investigation and deployment of Linux OS / kernel configuration and hardware lifecycle management tasks
- Making recommendations based on best practices and experience
- Managing work queue of incoming and in-progress tickets/tasks
- Communicating clearly and efficiently (written and spoken) as needed
- Responding to high priority incidents
- Cooperating with help desk to assist with troubleshooting and growth
- Participating in 24/7 on-call rotation
Qualifications
“What do I need to have in order to do this job?”
- Minimum 5+ years in Linux system administration in a large (500+system) environment.
- Experience supporting and provisioning Red Hat Enterprise Linux (Server and Workstation/Client)
- Must possess strong documentation skills with traditional publishing tools as well as other online documentation tools (Google Docs, wikis).
- Must have strong customer service and documentation skills with the ability to balance project work with technical support.
- Must be be to prioritize and manage issues of varying complexity and criticality
- Must have effective analytical skills, I with the ability to diagnose and correct performance and reliability issues
- Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.
- In select work settings or where jurisdictionally mandated, must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or adhere to enhanced protocols.
“What can I offer?”
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a computer or information management field
- Experience with Windows Active Directory and SCCM
- Solid understanding of LDAP (layout, queries, object manipulation)
- OSE / RHV administration
- Chef administration and workflows
- Scripting via Python or C shell
- SSL and PKI
- Email service administration and configuration
- DNS administration
- Network protocols and topology
- Experience with JIRA and ServiceNow
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $105,000 - $150,000
