Job Description

At Atlas, we're providing services that enable communities to flourish and thrive, and if you’re a Survey Technician ready to support field surveying operations by safely assisting the Survey Crew Chief and committed to doing meaningful work, then this is your moment. You’ll operate survey equipment, perform two-person crew field tasks, and follow Atlas standards. Core Responsibilities

  • Following company safety protocols, including state, federal, and site-specific regulations.
  • Taking direction for the Survey Crew Chief and learning proper procedures for land surveying and mapping tasks for public and private clients.
  • Training in the set up and operation of survey instruments, automated electronic data collection, GPS equipment, and other specialized equipment.
  • Field work on a 2-person survey crew performing design topographical mapping, boundary, and right of way surveys.
  • Adhering to Atlas workflows, standards, safety protocols, and procedures
  • Out of town/overnight travel as needed.

You’ll thrive here if you

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. and stand or walk for several hours (may occasionally encounter challenging terrain and weather conditions). This is a year-round outdoor position.
  • Ability to start work early and work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to be on time at a variety of locations around the Puget Sound region.
  • Ability to travel 75% or greater.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Assume personal responsibility for completing quality work.
