Surgical Services Equip Coord

Responsible for maintaining the equipment and supplies for the operating room. Maintains par levels, obtains loaner equipment's, keeps and reviews records and works with vendors to ensure all equipment's are available and functioning.


Principal Accountabilities:


1. Assures appropriate par levels of supplies are maintained and stored in all supply locations. Places purchase orders for required surgical implants and supplies; receives surgical supply deliveries.
2. Transports and stores items in appropriate locations.
3. Collaborates with the Materials/OR Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager or designee to establish and adjust par levels.
4. Collects and coordinates instruments and/or equipment's in department for repairs.
5. Arranges for loaner instrumentation if requested by Assistant Nurse Manager or designee and assures that all loaner equipment and instruments are returned to vendor in a timely manner.
6. Arranges for substitute items when backorders occur or borrow from within the health system.
7. Maintains an accurate database of all tissue implants, using Graft Tracker. All implants are to be logged in and out of this system on a daily basis, to ensure that the virtual inventory matches the physical inventory. All alerts are to be addressed on a daily basis. Maintains database for all Instructions for Use for all tissue items.
8. Addresses all product recall notifications within 24 hours of receipt of notice from Strategic Sourcing. Completes all vendor required paper work and sends completed paper work to Materials/OR Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager or designee for review and approval prior to any product leaving the hospital and/or any vendor removing product from the Operating Room.
9. Checks for expired item across inventory locations and submits expired items spreadsheet to Materials/ OR Manager once a month for review.
10. Places electronic orders utilizing both catalog and non-catalog items, maintains all supply areas to make sure that they are all neat and orderly and that all locations adhere to Joint Commission and Fire Safety storage regulations, assists with preparation of cycle counts, quarterly inventories, capital and operational budgets by obtaining pricing information from vendors, runs Operating Room schedule on a daily basis and checks and reviews Resource Maps with Assistant Nurse manager or designee to confirm accuracy of maps are being used.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
1. High School Diploma.
2. 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
1. Operating Room knowledge.
2. Surgical Technician Program Certification.
