Job Summary

 

**The Supervisor of Field Logics (Region 5) will oversee logistics operations at the Gloucester, Northern Neck, Williamsburg, Hampton (Peninsula), Norfolk, and Va Beach offices.  Home-base office location is flexible between any of these offices.

 

• Manages daily logistics operations in the field, supporting electric distribution and bulk power   businesses. 
• Manages field logistics operations related to material planning, material requests, bills of materials, transfers, and returns, for multiple locations. 
• Manages process for materials receipt, tools, and general supply deliveries. 
• Establishes minimum and maximum inventory levels for region. 
• Operates rapid response material delivery system.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

 

• Required: 5+ years of related experience with a preferred Bachelor degree (Or 7+ years with an Associate Degree; Or 9+ years with a HS degree)
• Experience with supervising union / craft employees preferred
• In-depth knowledge of materials management, logistics theory, and logistics applications.
• In-depth knowledge of material policies, processes, and systems.
• Full knowledge of material accounting practices.
• Knowledge of material planning techniques.
• Strong negotiation and communications skills.
• Consensus teambuilding skills.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to adjust to changing environment.

Education Requirements

 

Preferred Bachelor Degree (or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education)

 

Preferred Disciplines:  Business, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Materials Management
