Job Summary/Purpose
Providing oversight of construction activities associated with modification projects at an Entergy Nuclear plant. Coordinates departmental activities including work scope evaluations, development of schedules, resource loading, execution of work activities and subsequent evaluations.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Performs project cost and cash flow forecast. Manages Project Contracts. Supervises the project installation and inspection activities.
- Performs First Line Supervisor duties. Supervises the project installation and inspection activities. Reviews and evaluates performance of the project staff and contractors. Performs field observations of personnel to reinforce standards and expectations and identify gaps in performance.
- Initiates and executes frequent exchanges with others, as necessary, to resolve areas of conflict, promotes a supportive team approach, and addresses issues where obstacles are hampering team performance.
- Performs as the Responsible Field Engineer for assigned modification packages. Proposes project changes which improve efficiency and safety.
- Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of project activities. Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
- Works with management to identify and address performance deficiencies. Recommends and implements actions to improve gaps to operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
- 6 years commercial or military nuclear work experience. B.S. degree in Engineering or related technical degree may be credited for up to 4 years of experience.
- Desired: Experience managing contracts and department budgets.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
